ANTI-WRINKLE TREATMENTS & DERMAL FILLERS

Our highly qualified principal dentists have completed courses by the Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics (AADFA) who are accredited to provide treatments including anti-aging muscle relaxants, treatment for tooth grinding and TMJ treatment, dermal fillers and lip enhancements and gummy smile correction.

Dentists are the best practitioners to do this procedure as they are familiar with the facial and oral anatomy, and deal with this regularly.

You will first be booked for a consultation appointment. Here we will determine what things you would like improved from your face, and we will suggest possible options for fulfilling those results that you have always wanted. Preoperative photos are taken. Two of the several possible options are the use of Dento-Facial Botulinum Toxin or Dento-Facial dermal fillers.

Dento-Facial Botulinum Toxin

This is used to treat wrinkles caused by facial muscles contracting. Paralysing these muscles temporarily with Botulinum Toxin, relaxes them and eliminates the wrinkles associated with them. It lasts for about 6 months and then it will need to be retreated. Starting as early as possible is important, so that less dosage is needed and the results will tend to last longer than 6 months each time, on subsequent treatments.

This is a painless procedure where the dentist works out where the sites in the face are to be treated, and calculates the dosage necessary for each injection. Since a very tiny Insulin syringe is used, like patients with diabetes, it is painless. There is usually no discomfort afterwards. Results won’t be fully visible until 2 weeks, when we will see you for a review appointment, and take postoperative photos. We may need to treat some areas subsequently if necessary.

Dento-Facial dermal fillers

This is used to treat certain wrinkles, creases, folds, skin sagging in the face caused by lost skin structural components caused by ageing. Injecting a filler in these areas makes the skin to stretch to cover the filler, resulting in smoothing of those areas of the skin, and regaining a more youthful appearance. It lasts for about 6-12 months and then it will need to be retreated. Starting as early as possible is important, so that less dosage is needed and the results will tend to last longer than 6-12 months each time, on subsequent treatments.

Local anaesthetic is usually administered to prevent discomfort. There is usually little to no discomfort afterwards. Results are instant, however due to sometimes very slight swelling of treated areas, we would wait 2 weeks for a review appointment, and take postoperative photos. We may need to treat some areas subsequently if necessary.
